The new car team at CMH Toyota Umhlanga proudly accepted the 2016 Daruma challenge today from Toyota South Africa. This challenge symbolises the goals and target that are set and met by the team.
The concept of the Daruma doll is that the owner colors in one of the doll’s eyes when setting a goal. When the goal is achieved, the person colors in the other eye. The doll is supposed to be a visual reminder of the goal and help motivate the person. Daruma dolls are seen as a symbol of perseverance and good luck, making them a popular gift of encouragement.
When purchased, the eyes are white so a person can decide on a goal or wish and and paint one eye in. Once the goal is achieved, the second eye is filled in. Darumas are usually made of papier-mâché and have a round shape. They are hollow and weighted at the bottom so that they will always return to an upright position when tilted over. In This characteristic has come to symbolize the ability to have success, overcome adversity, and recover from misfortune.
We wish team CMH Toyota all the best and are certain you will rise to the challenge.
