5 Tips you should keep in mind while driving.

31 January 2022 by Rokkit

In order to make sure you do not have a car accident, we at CMH Toyota Umhlanga have put together a few steps to follow in order to avoid an accident. Many car accidents that take place on the roads are very avoidable if the correct precautionary steps are taken. Here are some of the precautionary steps from us at CMH Toyota Umhlanga

1. Choose a vehicle with suitable safety features.

When you buy a car, check to see what safety features the vehicle comes with as well as check the safety ratings of the car before you make your decision.

2. While driving you must always keep your eyes on the road.

While you drive it is highly advised that you do not try multitasking and always keep your eyes on the road. If you are not fully focused on driving it increases the chance of an accident.

3. Always check your blind spots.

While driving, it is vital that you always check your blind spots. If you are changing lanes, turning, or reversing out of parking, you should always check your blind spots.

4. Do not use your phone while driving.

Using your phone while driving is possibly one of the worst habits people have. If you must answer the phone because it is an emergency, rather pull over and answer the call to avoid an accident.

5. Do not drive if you are tired.

Driving while you are tired can lead to fatal accidents. If you are tired, it can result in a decrease in mental awareness and alertness. Your reflexes will be a lot slower which will result in you having a slower reaction time in an emergency. Make sure you come down and visit us at CMH Toyota Umhlanga, 1 Wilton Crescent, Umhlanga Ridge or contact us on 031 580 4000. We have friendly staff who are waiting to assist you.

CMH Toyota Alberton introduces the Toyota Coaster.

23 December 2021 by Rokkit

Since its inception in 1969, followed by second and third-generation models, the new, more powerful, sleeker and better fourth-generation model will be offered for the first time in South Africa. Let’s make more space, enjoy more value, and get people moving.

With its size, the Coaster falls into the midi-bus category, rather than a shuttle or conventional taxi. It can accommodate large groups of people comfortably, whether they are school or tour groups. Passengers will enjoy more seating, space and utility while experiencing a ride that offers both comfort and convenience on the road.

The Toyota Coaster boasts a sleek and modern design. A bold line divides the exterior into a lower and upper body. This is done with ubiquitous decals that are familiar to all South Africans, as well as luminous decals all around the vehicle. The upper body has a modern and spacious cabin design, while the lower body accentuates the area around the 17.5” steel wheels with front and rear mudguards.

Wide window frames, including the windshield and read windows, allow for optimal visibility for all passengers and large side mirrors support the driver’s visibility. At its sliding door, the Coaster has an entrance step made for easy access. It also features colour-coded front and rear bumpers accentuated by halogen headlamps with headlamp levelling.

Hilux Heritage

30 September 2021 by Rokkit

Hilux through the years

The year 1968 marked the beginning of the Toyota Hilux first generation, but it was only in 1973 that the Toyota Hilux was introduced to South Africa.

The second-generation Hilux was the first enhancement to the original Hilux and had four different models that were powered by either a 1.6-litre or a 2.0-litre engine. This vehicle, either a long wheelbase or a short wheelbase, was quite the improvement from Generation One’s mechanical components.

Toyota Hilux Second Generation

The third-generation Hilux was brought out in 1978 and was built with sedan-like features and the ride comfort had been increased to make the drive more pleasurable. This model ran a 1.6-litre 12R-J engine which it had inherited from its predecessor.

3rd Gen

In 1983 the fourth-generation Hilux was introduced to the world. This model came out in the Comfortable model, which was the fourth generation with a new and improved interior and exterior, and the Popular model, which was the third generation that was still in production.

Five years later the fifth-generation Hilux was launched. This vehicle was built with power, comfort, and sturdiness. The interior of the vehicle was improved even further to improve its functionality as a multi-purpose vehicle.

The sixth-generation Hilux was launched in 1997 and came with two main models. This business-use truck or a personal-use sports pickup truck. An Extra cab model was introduced in November that year.

6th Gen

The seventh-generation Hilux was brought out in 2004. This vehicle was sold in 140 different countries worldwide. That year Toyota brought out five new models which included three pickup truck models, a sports utility vehicle model, and a minivan model. The seventh-generation Hilux is the first to not be produced in Japan and was produced in countries like South Africa and Thailand.

Lastly, in 2015 the eighth-generation Hilux was launched. The main aim of this Hilux was to ‘redefine toughness’. The vehicle has a newly developed frame and suspension for improved comfort, ruggedness, and safety. The vehicle has three types of suspension specifications to suit the different conditions of the world.

Toyota Hilux Eighth Generation

Toyota has spent years improving and perfecting the Hilux to make it the best multi-purpose vehicle on the market. From going to different countries to experience different conditions to improving the interior to make it more comfortable and safer. The Toyota Hilux has truly ‘redefined tough’.
