In celebration of Women’s Month, we are honouring the three lovely ladies at our Automark department. These ladies work vigorously every day to make our lives a lot easier.

Sameera, who works for us as a Finance and Insurance Clerk, spends most of her time dealing with clients, arranging bank approvals, obtaining all pertinent documents, and keeping everything running smoothly. Sameera has been working here since 2015 and is loving it. For Sameera, seeing that smile and the excitement on the customers face when they are taking delivery of their car is what makes it all worthwhile. Sameera’s favourite car is without a doubt a Toyota Supra and hopefully one day she will get to drive it around her favourite holiday destination, the Maldives.

Sanuta, who is our Stock Controller has a very important job. Every day Sanuta will make sure our stocks sheets, prices and mileages are all updated and correct. She invoices all our cars as well as does a weekly stock take. Sanuta has been working with us since the beginning of 2021 but has slotted in very quickly and easily. Her favourite part about her job is working with all the different figures as well as all the number crunching. One day, Sanuta would love to get away and spend some time in her favourite holiday destination, the Bahamas.

Taryn is one of our longest-serving sales representatives. Taryn has been working here since 2006, and she does not plan on leaving anytime soon. From meeting customers to taking phone calls to going on test drives. Taryn has done it all. Even though selling cars to people isn’t an easy task, Taryn goes out there every morning and makes it happen. The best thing about Taryn’s job is that she gets to interact with many new people while making dreams come true. Taryn’s favourite car is a Toyota Prado, and she would love to go to Japan one day.

On the 29th of July 2021 CMH Toyota Alberton introduced the all-new Toyota Yaris GR.

When seeing the GR badge, you know you are about to experience something exhilarating, that’s part of the Toyota Gazoo Racing spirit, now comes the white-hot Gazoo Racing Yaris, the ultimate performance hatch with speed in its blood and DNA from its World Rally Championship-winning sibling.

A dedicated chassis with tuned suspension, a high-revving turbocharged engine, driver-adjustable GR-FOUR permanent all-wheel-drive, short-throw six-speed manual gearbox, lightweight construction, and aerodynamically efficient styling, puts the essence of performance in the Gazoo Racing Yaris. Appropriately, the GR Yaris has been designed from the ground up to deliver extreme performance. Its compact and lightweight, 1.6l, 3-cylinder, DOHC 12-valve engine incorporates competition-honed technologies such as a single-scroll ball bearing turbocharger, multi-oil jet piston cooling, a part machined intake port and a large diameter exhaust. Maximum power output is rated at 198kW @ 6 500r/min and peak torque of 360 Nm available between 3000-4600 r/min, making it the most powerful 3-cylinder production engine in the world and bestowing the GR Yaris with a power-to-weight ratio of 156kW/tonne.

The Toyota GR Yaris comprises two models, each with a 1.6l turbocharged engine. The Rally version offers additional safety, styling, and convenience features.

If ever you are driving and you find that you have a flat tyre, CMH Toyota Umhlanga has ten easy you need in order to change your tyre.

Step 1- Pull over in a safe spot

Find a quiet and safe spot for you to pull over. The ground should be flat to prevent your car from rolling away. Try to find a spot that is on a straight road so that cars are able to see you. If it is dark, try to find a spot where there are lights.

Step 2- Put on your hazard lights

Once you have found your safe spot to pull over, you must turn on your hazard lights so that oncoming traffic can see that there is a problem and you may require assistance.

Step 3- Check for tools

The three main items you will need are a jack, a spare wheel and tyre and a wrench. These three things can all be located in your car just in case a flat tyre occurs.

Step 4- Loosen the Lug Nuts

Using the wrench, loosen all the Lug Nuts on the wheel by turning the wrench in an anticlockwise direction, but do not loosen them all the way. Do this to all of the nuts and leave them loose enough to loosen by hand.

Step 5- Lift your vehicle off the ground

Place the jack onto the metal frame of the vehicle and make sure it is not touching any of the car’s plastic mouldings. Once the jack is secured, slowly start too raise the car off the ground so that the wheel is able to come off without touching the ground.

Step 6- Remove Lug nuts and tyre

Once the vehicle is raised high enough off the ground, remove the Lug nuts and take the tyre off the frame. Make sure you keep all of the nuts in a safe place.

Step 7- Place the spare tyre on the frame

With the spare wheel, line up the holes on the wheel with the lug nut posts and place the tyre on to the posts. Push the wheel as far back as it can go.

Step 8- Replace the Lug nuts

Place all of the Lug nuts back onto the posts and tighten them with your hands. Do not tighten them all the way because it is vital to tighten the Lug nuts in a way in which the tyre is kept even.

Step 9- Lower your vehicle and tighten the nuts

Slowly lower your vehicle to the point where the wheel is just touching the ground. Number all of your nuts from 1 through to 5 and then tighten them in the order 1,3,5,2,4,1,3,5,2,4. This is to keep your tyre straight and even.

Step 10- Lower your vehicle fully and finish tightening

Lower your vehicle onto the ground and put the jack away. Using the wrench, tighten your nuts once more in the same pattern until they do not budge.
